The present situation of distant learning in a hands on training become very difficult for an instructor to evaluate a student. Let us take for example, simple first aid training, Though you may indicate where to locate a pulse of  a client/ victim, you not been in the working space provides a difficult form of assessing student. Though he/she may say yes the found the pulse you cannot effectively evaluate. This is most difficult for the newer trainees in any hands on training. It would end up delaying and prolonging training taking it out of the time frame allotted for a set module.

Thanks Javier for your comments regarding distant First Aid training.  I think that this will be a matter for us finding best ways to evaluate online learning. Maybe asking students to post a video following  first aid techniques? I don’t know what will be the best way but I think that technologies provides us with lots of new possibilities and it will be a matter of taking advantage of all of them, adapt them, and use them in different contexts.
