My name is Jeremy Mortimer, and I work at the IFRC secretariat headquarters in Geneva. I joined the IFRC in 1994 to get the organization onto the Internet, and set up our first Usenet, Gopher, Web, WAIS, SMTP and Listserv services, among others (a few of these technologies still exist). I have worked for the Federation in IT, communications and National Society development ever since. I have particularly enjoyed helping National Societies to use ICTs as effectively as possible, including for several years in our Digital Divide Initiative. I am currently in the National Society Development and Volunteering unit.
